I love yellow as a color for little general card. I used Beccy's Place's already colored image on my card with some scrap ribbons on the background. It's very simple card and took me some 15 minutes to make out of that most of the time was to stick the ribbons in background. :-)

Earring holder card

One of my colleague likes some of my earrings so when I saw one which I like, I thought to buy it for her. But I thought to give them not as it is but in a card or some kind of holder. So I made a simple card with the silhouette flowers image and then with velcro I stick the earrings on the card. I distressed the edges and finished the card with flowers from My Favorite Things die.

Diwali card with Om

I am really excited as from tomorrow we have a Diwali staring. It is the main festival of most of the Indians and particularly for us the next day of Diwali is also the New Year so the festival has a very special meaning. Last year I tried to send card to all of my family and friends but this year I am just sending it to only my make parents, my husband's parents and my siblings. This easel card is from an old Indian wedding card. Usually Indian wedding card are very colorful with some good handmade paper. I don't know whether you can see it or not but the middle mustard paper is handmade paper with lots of fiber. I love the texture of it. Anyways I hope you enjoyed my creation!!

Who has read my yesterday's post, we had a situation yesterday about a shoot at large in Cupertino area but finally the we have closure on that. Finally the area has been cleared and from tomorrow we can start our office.
I have made the birthday card with cute bird singing a song with the wishes...I used the Z-fold for the card and I used the pencil colors for the birdie!!

We have a situation going to in Cupertino right now, a gunman is on large nearer to were I work. One of my friend called me in the morning to inform me so I am working from home but by current news, all the nearer area is been evacuated including school, offices, some of the homes. Wow... I can't believe it's Friday and about to go home!!! This week we are planning to go to one India festival called Navratri, me and my husband's favorite festival. Basically in that festival you for Ras-Garba(a very traditional dance of Gujrat). We were a very traditional dress which is called Chaniya Choli. If you want you can glance at the video here,

So finally I am back to San Jose. I have been back from Monday but then after I was little busy in office. Another cupcake!!!

It's been a really long time from my last post(other than the one which I posted couple of minutes back). Currently I am in San Diego at my brother's home. Can you believe, I bought the flight ticket in 99$ from San Jose!! In June Southwest had amazing deal from San Jose to San Diego in 99$(with Tax) so we both bought one to visit each other. Along with my brother I have lots of friends here as well so thought to have some good time with everybody.
So with the obvious reason, I am working from home today and also went for lunch with my friends. After the quick lunch from Noodles and comp, we went to a sweet cupcake place called, Sparkles Cupcake by famous pastry chef Candace Nelson. So I thought to add a card based on cupcake as well. As I have mentioned in my previous blog, I am part of the "Shannon's Sentiments" DT team now. And now it's finally time for the "Shannon's Sentiments" May release!!! This month we are releasing 4 large individual images along with 4 Add-On sets, and 2 full sets.

Today we are also having a weekly challenge, we would like to see you use three flowers and no patterned paper. Cardstock only please:)

Here come the card I have made with “Flowers with vase” image from “Lots of Thanks” release set. I have also added “Just for you” sentiment from “Friendship” release set. I used the blue card stock(you know it is a recycled office folder!!!) with the craft card stock embossed with Birthday folder. I also used some flowers with the stem. For the stem I used the die which I just got from my favorite scrapbook store in Bay Area.

This is my another creation for Mother's Day and so far my favorite. I never thought that this card will turned out to be like this. This week in mY grafico we were given Stick Figure Easter Digital Stamps by Stockberry Studio for Monday feature. These stamps are so sweet and fun to use.

I made an Easter basket from the digital stamp an did lots of paper piercing. I think I printed the stamp 4-5 times on different types of paper and cut it in small pieces to make this card. I think because of that it took lot of create this card.

I am a big fan of "My Favorite Things" stamps. I have some of them but I always keep on working on this one. One of the local scrapbooking store had flea market sale some time back where all the sell used-unused items were from customers. It was pretty good sell, I found some great things like in 25C each got adhesive tabs, bone folder etc. In all the I also found one scrapbooking paper kit in 3:50$. The background paper I have used in from that stack. I did some paper piercing for girl's cloths. As I mentioned in my previous post, for twine I have used by jute bag for rice I bought from Costco.

Happy Birthday wih bird silhouette

These days I have found my new love towards silhouette images. I think it's because of it's simplicity and just in one color describing everything about the image. When I use those images, I can play with rest of card with lots of other techniques but still at the end image is the main focus. And image's simplicity makes it elegant too. What do you think?

Did you notice my twine on buttons? Do you know from where I got that? I will tell you one thing. It's totally recycle!! I bought a bag of rice from Costco a while back. And guess what, it was a jute bag so I simply removed one thread from that bag and BOOM! I have a twine which I want in no money!! ;-)

Once again it's Monday and on My Grafico this week we are featuring Fluffy Bunnies stamp by Cheri Wegner. It's so versatile, I can use it for any occasion.

From the set I have made this cute time to celebrate card. This week I have bought some Craft paper sheet so I though to try that out. In this card I have done some paper piercing for cute Bunny's cloths and bow including flowers as embellishments. I also pierced the edges of the card.

Spring Birthday card

I think whenever I am make card I use some particular colors, of course which changes over time. These days I use my favorite color, purple. I have made this card from the folder I had in my office drawer which I never used. I love the color but not for office purpose so I simply made card out of it by making it a base of this wonderful spring theme easel(or Z-fold) birthday card from Sliekje's free Digital stamp. For the flowers I have used Mel Stampz's flower using recycle papers. I have used a old newspaper and glue that on one solid paper and then punched a flower and colored them with red/orange and purple to go with the image.

This is the inside of the card after opening the easel with simple birthday greeting.

This week we have given Stockberry Studio - Heart Fairies Digital Stamps to work for My Grafico's Monday feature.

I love fairies and this set was so beautiful I couldn't resist making this cute spring inspired fairy card with some flower patterned paper.

I have this cute Birthday Girl sentiment inside of the card.

I can't believe, this weekend I did nothing... Nothing means nothing... Last week I was super busy in my work. I used to come to office around at 9 AM and leave at 9:00 PM but finally I could finish something by Friday evening. So I was very happy but tried too so I thought of not doing anything. Usually craft makes me happy and stress-free but the mess it makes at the end is overwhelming. And as we live in small apartment I can't keep that mess laying around my house for days!! Another reason was, I am making a photo calender for my niece for her 4th Birthday in April and I have so many pictures, I have to make some collage to add more and more pictures. Along with the I wanted to give her some handmade jewelery so I worked on that. I had fun doing all that. I hope you enjoy my fairy card!!

Baby Princess Congratulation card

I am so excited to make my very first card as a DT member of My Grafico. We had given this super cute set by Zenware Designs Baby Digital Stamps to play with and I made a card for my best friend's baby girl, Khushi.

My best friend, Sabrina Dey, who used to be my craft partner in my bachelors times just delivered a cute baby girl named Khushi. I am so happy for her and you know Khushi means happiness in Indian language. :-) Whenever we talk, we always talk about crafts and what we are going to do for any special occasion for our life partners. I can't imagine life is so fast... It's been more than 10 years from the time we met. We were roommates in dorm and we had great time laughing, fighting, talking, decorating our rooms, crafting etc.. When I called her last week, she told me her baby is 1 month old. It turns out she delivered 1 month before time and she messaged me on my cell which I never got and when her brother send me pics I could not open the file. :-( So here comes the card I made for her. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!!!

Once again in Memories Live on shop's De-stress Friday's make and take had this wonderful card to make. We used Hero Arts's layered flower stamps for layering flowers. For distress look we use pink crackled paint. If you can see on background, I have also scratched it for more distress look. I hope you like the card. Sparkle fairy with flowers

I love to make multi-fold cards. So I wanted to try out Diamond fold card. I used one Digi which I got it from one site. If you have marked, I used silver pen to color the hair to match it with paper. I used some of the papers which I got as part of one of the Late Night craft event at Binghamton University 3 years back. I love this papers and they are full of bright colors, texture and sparkles. I am trying to find these paper set from quite a while but I am not able to. :-)

Just for a background, when I was in my Master's(3 years back) I was working in Late Night Binghamton which organizes different craft and fun events on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and which are usually free. I always felt that was the best job I even had as I love to do craft.

Coffee and friends

I am big fan of Tea and Coffee. Usually on weekdays I have my coffee in my office but on weekends I will have my favorite Indian Tea. So anyways I love to make cards made with some coffee/tea format. Isn't making card is very similar to the likes and dislikes of your life?? ;-) This card was very simple to make just color coffee, tea cups and I was good to go... I even put a cup of coffee inside too. I cut the sentiment in two parts half outside and half inside to finish the statement.

Black and white congratulation card

I just bought Sizzix Big Shot from one of the local scrapbooking shop and 2 embossing folders from Micheal's. I tried that machine for this card and I love it. It makes cards so interesting. I have one digi stamp of silhouette flowers so I thought to go for a simple and elegant congratulation card. I took totally 15-20 minutes to make this card and I am pretty happy with the output.

Finally after a month I am putting one card on my blog. I have been busy from quite a while and when I had a little time overt this weekend I made 2 cards so I thought to just out it on. BTW Wishing you all a very Happy Valentine's Day!!! I made this card on Memories live on make and take on Friday. I stamped the LOVE and cut it in perfect shape. On a tag I stamped LOVE multiple times get distressed look and then added layered heart with wings which are die cuts. After hearts are layered out, I sprayed perl red. Ended the card with twine and key.

Birthday girl

One of my good friend in San Diego's birthday is coming and she is girlie girl so I thought to make something from pink with my stamp from My Favorite Things. I love stamps which has some cupcakes, coffee etc so I grabbed this from Memories Love On store on this Wednesday when they accept Micheal's 40% off coupon when my final purchase amount is more than 10$. I used the paper piecing for her clothes and blueberry cupcake. In my last Make and Take in the same store I learned to also stamp the same image inside of the card to tie it more with the card. Flower pot birthday card

I have never made a card with the oval share as I don't have any tools to cut the oval shape and a template. And of course I didn't want to create a oval shape with any engineering way. :-) So over the weekday I simply created a word doc with 4-5 different oval shapes and I got my cheapest(actually free) template which I have used in this flower pot card. I used some glitter in the middle and used a ticket for birthday greeting. I have used the lace trim smartly by cutting the trim in middle and stick it on both the side of paper. I am trying for GT call for Fairy tale challenge.

I made this cards watching Modern Marvels on History channel. The episode was on packaging, it also covered water bottle packaging. Can you believe, shaping the water bottle requires proper designing and the one I saw was inspired by Capsicum? As the vacuum in the bottle changes the shape of it, the bottom of bottle is not flat but concave(just like capsicum). :-)

One of my best friends(Pooja and Abhbishek) just got married and we couldn't attend their wedding as it was in India and we didn't do our India trip this time. We were housemates when I was doing my Master's. We had a great time together studying, doing assignments, taking, sharing, cooking etc. together. I am really happy for their new beginning. Now I am planning to invite them to my house next weekend for lunch or dinner to give them their wedding gift. As I am planning for a gift, I thought to make a card with the gift card pocket inside. This one is my first attempt on wedding card and I love the out come. Fairy Birthday

Once again another project with digital image on Z-fold. This time I used one fairy image, I colored it with my favorite purple color with silver wings. I am not sure you are able to see the silver sparkly wings but I colored it with silver pen. This days I have found my new love(of course after my husband ;-) )... Digital stamps... I think I started using digital stamps 1-2 weeks back but I love to use them as they are quite handy and just print the image you like, color it and you are almost done... Even I create my own sentiments too... It's surely the most economical way of card making. Season's greetings

Just before my vacation officially started(today ;-)), we had "Secret Santa" in my team. We had to pick up one name paper chit and buy a gift in 20$. So in my case I had to buy a gift for my manager and I was so confused what to buy for him. So finally I end up buying a Calvin Klein Euphoria for men from Kohl. I when little over budget but it's fine and he loved it. Anyways along with the perfume, I made a card using Stamping Up's Peaceful Season stamps, Stamping up corner punch. I love this metallic white paper it gives me a little winter feeling.

As in my first picture the color turned out not so good so added another picture also. As such that is also not so good but now I don't have that card so...

Bunny with flowers

I am so excited right now, I am on vacation now till 3rd Jan.... yupiii... So the first thing I did was to print out some digital stamps and make some cards... Can you belive the yellow base card stock is from one office folder which I never liked and I used it here. Now I love this card using my favorite Friday MashUp sketch... :-) I have bought the new circle punch 2 days back when I opened it yesterday it was not working at all. I was so disappointed so for this card I have to cut all the circles by hand... So much work but it's worth it. I hope you love my card.

3 candles birthday

I am so excited this week. From Tuesday I am on vacation for 10 days. No work Yeeeee....And one more thing, I had a hair cut today. My husband loved it but he is making fun of me by telling me "his new wife". ;-) It's short A-line hair cut (low maintenance cut).

Instead of making lots of cards this weekend I have made very few and this is 1st one with some birthday candles.. I have a scalloped edge on the front but I think I took the picture in such a way that it's difficult to see that.

As always I love to layer so this week I thought to come up with a card which has lots of flowers. And here is the output which has flower veil in background paper, small flowers on 4 squares, stamped one tulip and then cut a small piece of the same green patterned paper to make tulip.

Simple little bundle of joy

One of really really good friend just had a baby. We were classmate in my bachelors(Computer Engineering) in India but we became really good friend when I was working in college as a lecturer. When I sent cards to all my family members for Diwali, I couldn't send her card as I didn't have her address and when I got, it was too late. But when I told her about that she forced me to send her Diwali card(it's been almost 2 months of Diwali) so I thought to add baby boy card too. This card was inspired by one of the card of Leann. Isn't this a wonderful clean and simple card?

One more acetate card

Once again one more card learned from Memories Live On. We stamped on cream and red polka dot paper. The same stamp was also done on Acetate and then using green copic markers I colored the butterflies on the other side of the stamp. When I saw the sample I never thought that the the butterflies are colored. I was so amazed when I knew about that. Then simply cut them, used clear glue to stick them and added some glitter on wings. The green background was using embossed folder.

Fabric flower birthday card

I wanted to make some rosette with fabric after looking at this video. I love how interesting it was. I used one of my old t-shirt which I was never gonna wear, means I recycled my item. How creative!! I even used paper torn technique too. In my last class in Memories Live On store, I learned how to my rough edge on a paper without any tool. I used regular paper scissor to make rough edges. I have used one old earring as a center of a flower. :-)

This Friday I went to one of the scrapbooking shop, Memories Live On, here in Bay Area for some free technique teaching class. I had a great fun making this Christmas card with de-stress, embossing techniques on acetate paper and rosette on red paper with random background made using splash stamp with funky ribbon. Dreams come true

I am so excited this week as in my office every Dec we have a craft fair. So this time I thought to participate in it will all my card creation added in this blog along with some of the cards which I made initially. It was a very successful, i sold all my cards except 3 cards. Isn't that great? I didn't earn a lot as I have kept my cards in very less amount as it was just for fun and my encouragement to make some more but it was real fun. My office is huge and the event was in cafeteria. So many of my teammates came to my table and encouraged me. Anyways so that means I have to make some more cards and here comes one card which will make someone's(may be mine) dream come true.

I have one more card with the similar theme with just a different stamp and I added some beads on this card...

Snowman Merry Christmas

I got some cards from National Geographics and I thought to recycle them with my own version. I just hand cut the snowman and then made a gate fold card. I loved the end result.

3 flowers Birthday card

After along time I got some time to work on makign some card and wanted to make a birthday card so here comes my 3 flowers birthday card!!! The thing I love the most in making card is to add element in a card which is a cut out by hand from some other patterned paper, like in my card I have cut out 3 flowers from patterned paper I bought a week back from Joann. Isn't that a lovely way to add element?
